Shifter indicator light

They wiggle and vibrate loose over time, just figure out what size it is and screw it back down. That should take care of the rattle. Must be something else causing the lose connection. However, I think you will have to take everything out in order to look inside or even replace the light bulb. I just left it as is.

After a quick check I found it may be bulb#1893 so I picked up the bulbs but it doesn't seem to work in there. One other point I might add about the shifter light, instead of using the rubber cover try painting the bulb (Whatever color) with a coat or 2 of spray paint, it gives the same effect as the rubber boot.

Yes indeed the car was in Park, but it was not on - this seems like odd behavior, or at least wasteful of energy, unless it's trying to tell me something. I have an 03 Silverado 2500hd diesel and the indicator line on the gear selector is not working. The vehicle shifts between PRND but the line does not appear. Also when in drive the vehicle will not shift through the drive gears, it remains in one gear. There is a dedicated shifter D light thread but that too is riddled with folks trying to replace D4 light bulb.
