In fact, the standard NP 242 SYE kits do the same exact thing and don't use that snap ring. Additionally, the snap ring is removed for a really good reason. Tom Woods actually shortens the shaft a lot. This is very similar in shortness as compared to the standard NP242 SYE kit (the full kit, not the hack n tap).I would recommend selling your NP208 for 100 bucks and hunting down an NP241c.
