I drained and filled the rear diff with The Honda II fluid but it was making the same noise before just as it still does. We had some snow a month back so I decided to make a video, where I badger about the noise lol..

It's called the AVAS system (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) and it's required by United States law which means you can't remove it. It's actually not only when you're in reverse and it's on whenever you're in EV mode and in any gear besides P (although it is louder in reverse).

It's a whining/high pitch type of noise. It does not always make the sound, but I almost always hear it after driving for several minutes and going over 40MPH.
