A friend of mine was selling his wife's '05 Lexus GX470 with 120k miles. It was maintained at the Lexus dealership all its life and it's pretty pristine. Got a real brother-in-law deal on it, so I bought it. Well, after having driven the GX470 for a while, I'm having serious second thoughts on whether I should build the GX instead of the FJ.The GX is a great truck but I think it might be a tad tight with space for your needs. Unless you road trip very efficiently or get a big roof box.The GX gets just a touch better gas mileage, so no major savings there. The 470 xfer is a VF4BM the same as the V8 4Rnr and certain FJC's. If memory serves the 460's have a different version of the VF4. Not sure on the NV4500 adapter but I doubt anyone has gone down that path yet.
